Dr. Gerber is a holistic family chiropractor. She founded her practice within the Centenary Health Centre of RVHS in 1997 and has served the hospital community, Scarborough and Greater Toronto with a passion for health every day since. Dr. Gerber is a certified Active Release Techniques (ART ®) provider. She employs soft tissue therapy, anti-inflammatory modalities, laser treatment , electro-current therapy, mobilization and full body adjustments. This multi-faceted approach helps to maximize her patients’ response to treatment, and can reduce time for healing. She uses technically advanced computerized gait analysis, in combination with postural assessment and measurements to provide custom made orthotics.
Kyra’s passion for continuing her education allows her to see the possibility of clinical success - even with difficult diagnoses. Volunteerism and community involvement are essential to Kyra’s balance in life. Most recently she has served for 8 years in leadership of the Rouge Valley Health System’s annual Gala fundraiser, was a steering committee member of the Friends for Life Bike Rally supporting the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation, and is a Team Leader for the Out of the Cold Program for the homeless in a downtown Toronto church. In 2002, she embarked on her successful journey to a 100-pound weight loss after a lifetime struggle with obesity. Not only has she “kept it off” - she continues to raise the bar on her nutritional and fitness goals! She is an avid road cyclist, runner, plays basketball, volleyball and enjoys pushing herself into awesome fitness. She participates in the Friends for Life Bike Rally cycling from Toronto to Montreal (610km) and the Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Princess Margaret Hospital. Her compassionate and non-judgemental approach is evidence of her genuine understanding of the challenges her patients face.
